StatSync News Updates

Sat 4-Jul-2008: Technical Difficulties / System Reset / Refunds Pending

StatSync just came back up after being down for more than a week, and should finally stay back up. The technical difficulties we've been having were finally revealed to be defective hardware that somehow managed to pass every diagnostic test but then went on to fail and take down the system anyway. Unfortunately, no visits were tracked during the downtime, but they are being tracked once more as of now (3pm CST 4-Jul-2008). Also, it will take up to 24 hours for the statistics calculations to be reset for each user in system, depending on where your account occurs in the database. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

For those of you with premium account subscriptions, we will be crediting you for one month of charges. Please allow 7-10 days for the credit to appear in your PayPal account.

Sat 21-Jun-2008: Technical Difficulties / Some Visits Not Tracked

StatSync.com was down for unscheduled maintenance due to techincal difficulties beyond our control. The outage occured during most of Fri and Sat 20/21-Jun-2008. MySpace profile visitors were not tracked during that time. Tracking began again immediately after the site was brought back up, around 6pm CST. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Thu 13-May-2008: Technical Difficulties / Some Visits Not Tracked

StatSync.com was down for unscheduled maintenance due to techincal difficulties beyond our control. The outage occured during most of the weekend on Sat 10-May-2008 and Sun 11-May-2008, and for several hours again on Tue 13-May-2008. MySpace profile visitors were not tracked during that time. Tracking began again immediately after the site was brought back up, shortly before 11pm CST. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Thu 27-Sep-2007: Better Password-Changing Support

The way that new passwords get assigned whenever someone forgets theirs was sometimes confusing. Here's what we've done about that:

  1. We clarified the instructions in several places about how passwords are case-sensitive (i.e. that it matters that the CAPS-lock key is turned off and that you hold down the SHIFT key for capital letters).
  2. When you forget your password, we send you link via e-mail to a special page that generates a new password for you. We just now made it so that if you return to that page again within a certain amount of time, it will leave the new password alone (and not try to change it to yet another new password).
  3. We added a whole new FAQ page dedicated to questions and answers about logging in and changing passwords. For example, it talks about how, if your browser automatically fills in your password for you, you have to make sure it uses the new password whenever you change it.

Tue 18-Sep-2007: Upgrade Problems Resolved

We had some trouble with the system upgrade we implemented yesterday (see below), but the issues have been resolved. These problems were in some case a matter of visits not being recorded, and in other cases, they were recorded but could not be displayed. As of now, we are back to tracking and displaying 100% of your MySpace profile visits.

Also, some people reported problems with the forgot-password feature not working, and with not being able to register. Both of those are working again, as well.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Thank you for your patience as we continue working to bring you an even better StstSync.com.

Mon 17-Sep-2007: StatSync Upgrade - What's New

We upgraded this site today. Most of changes in this round were internal ("under the hood" stuff). They were necessary in order to allow us to add other new features that are coming soon. In the mean time, here is what's new for now:

  • You will have already noticed the new graphics by now. You may not have noticed that the screen layout is also wider and, for some pages, taller. That makes it easier to view the log information.
  • This here "News Updates" page is also new. We will use it to keep you posted with information and announcements on the latest StatSync activities. The "News" link in footer of any page will always take you here.
  • Bookmarkable page URLs. (For example, premier members can use "http://www.statsync.com/weekly.php?opts=012" to go directly to the weekly stats with the log filtered to only showing unique visits by visitor, and sorted by location). You'll be asked to log in first, if necesssry.
  • Demo mode now has an introduction page to explain how it works and point out what to look for.
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes.
